Incoherent Rantings

I realized while browsing random snippets of other people's lives that generating entertainment is not an easy task. Rather, that while one could likely come up with something good every so often, to do so on a consistent basis is where the challenge really comes in, and is probably why good writers are in demand. It may also explain why entertainers, who include singers, actors, and much more, are paid as much as they are. It's definitely still inflated, but entertainment is not an easy business. People have fickle tastes, and as an entertainer you must generate fresh and new entertainment all the time.
This can also explain why those who are truly good writers are paid to do nothing but write. If you really thought about it, it may seem weird to pay someone a lot of money just to write. However, there are those that can take something boring and turn it into entertainment - that's a talent that is in great demand and can command a decent price.
This gets into why I don't bother to write about my own life. I believe that if I was willing to put the time into it, I could make my life sound much more interesting than it actually is, but I would have to actually edit my own work, and that's something I'm just not willing to do. Given that, I try not to write about the daily happenings due to their inherent lack of drama and such. In fact, my life is about as calm as it could be, without me being, say, dead. Such is the dilemma of life - short, exciting, and dramatic, or long, boring, and forgettable. I think I've had about all the drama I need for my life, and I think I'd be content to live a boring but ultimately fulfilling life.

There were many varied and amazing links I was going to put up, but my computer became unhappy with me, and I am left with just one. Thankfully, it's the best one, but it definitely requires reading. The long and short of it is that the more religious a society is, the worse off it tends to be.
Unfortunately, the article does not put forth a link to the actual study, nor does it examine the methodologies involved, but if nothing else, it's food for thought. While I can only assume that the author of the study is biased, and I do, in fact, want to believe the results, I cannot really draw any conclusions from it without knowing how the research was carried out. The article briefly mentions that information was gleaned from various sources, but it does not go into detail.
I could go off on a very large tirade related to religion, but it's late, and I'm far too lazy to put forth a coherent argument.
However, assuming this is true, the US should definitely examine its policies towards things like sexual education. More education never hurt anyone. Ignorance is bliss, but you could never argue that it's good for you.
Next up is the return of my road rage. If I have a few more bad commutes, I should be able to work up enough righteous anger to type out a very eloquent rant on the idiots that I have to share the road with.
RELIGIOUS belief can cause damage to a society, contributing towards high murder rates, abortion, sexual promiscuity and suicide

In general, higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion in the prosperous democracies.
